mom does have a life...kind of

so about a year and a half ago i ran my first half marathon. ( 13.1 miles ) a huge huge accomplishment for me. not anything i thought i'd ever do, but after lots of hard work it turned out to be an awesome experience. well, i am shooting to do it again this july and i am really excited to reach that point once again. the first time my goal was to run the whole time and just finish. i really thought the second time i'd make a goal to beat my first time, but once again i am just aiming towards the finish line, no matter how long it takes. it just feels good to know i can do it. i really hate every minute of it, but crave the feeling i get afterward! wish me luck, as it's getting quite warm outside!

also, i am expanding my sewing horizons and making my first dress! (for cadence) i have made a few quilts and baby blankets, bags, and a couple other small things, but have never made anything off of a pattern. my ever-so-kind sis-in-law came over today to help me get started. if it turns out maybe i'll post a pic.

i started teaching violin lessons again. after a 2 1/2 yr break i am ready to get back in the swing of things. and it feels good to be contributing a bit. i have about 11 students right now and think i'll take just a couple more and call it good.
